Lutz & Guggisberg

Swiss artists Andres Lutz (b. 1968) and Anders Guggisberg (b. 1966) have worked as Lutz & Guggisberg since 1996. Winners of several art awards, their work can be made, salvaged or observed, and the results are often presented in mesmerising, highly detailed installations or performed. New, diminutive worlds appear at the viewer’s feet or blobs are brought to life. Lutz & Guggisberg have an animator’s ability to generate empathy with objects. They readily adopt any kind of artistic idiom from the pre-historic to Modernism to communicate their ideas, creating absurd scenes that speak of the dramas of life, pride and the human character.
